How might we help pedestrians, especially those with mobility difficulties, navigate the winter streetscape after a major snowfall?

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
After a heavy snowfall not every sidewalk or crosswalk is passable; walking around means slugging through a labyrinth of detours and dead ends that changes every time you step outside. Could people share information with each other to make this process easier?
